Bangladesh is a country of rivers and floods but groundwater is still a vital resource because it provides bacterially safe wate

r and helps produce food for millions of people. In rural and urban areas almost the entire population rely on groundwater for potable water. In the early 1990s some 97% of the population used it for drinking, but this has now come down to about 80% due to the detection of arsenic in shallow groundwater. Use of groundwater in irrigation is increasing every year, and now more than 74% of the irrigated area is covered with groundwater. The country's industries also rely on groundwater for most of their water needs. Though Bangladesh has abundant rain and surface waters, these sources are not available when water demand is the most. Therefore, groundwater can be considered as the country's most important natural resource for ensuring public health and food security. Consider the options for groundwater contamination in Bangladesh and give recommendations for prevention and conservation of groundwater in Bangladesh.

Why is the atmosphere a selective absorber of electromagnetic radiation and why does the surface behave almost like a black body
My name is Ann [436]

Answer:

As explained below.

Explanation:

 • The atmosphere on earth is mostly a result of the interaction of solar winds and earth gravitational pull. The planet takes incoming shortwave insolation that heats the surface from above and charges the surface from below.
 • At night it gives this absorbed energy as a black body out in the space when it completes a cycle of 12 hours and this in long waveforms of energy with IR radiation that is quite less as compared to that of suns.
 • Like a black body, the earth radiated this heat bk as it cannot afford to keep much as is to balance the energy flow within and out of the earth system.

kobusy [5.1K]
I think you mean population density lol if so then the answer would be the relationship between the size of a certain area in the number of people who live there. Because geographers use it to measure a number of people living in a certain area. I hope this helps!
