The Ottoman Empire fought alongside the Central Powers in World War 1, namely Germany and the Austria-Hungarian Empire. It had already been in a period of decline leading up to the war, and its defeat to the Allied Powers was essentially what led to its dissolution.

Following the defeat of the Central Powers and the occupation of Constantinople (Istanbul in present-day Turkey) that followed, the Ottoman Empire was partitioned (divided up) and temporarily administered by the victories Allied Powers. This meant the abolition of the Sultanate and the end of the Ottoman Empire.

What was the cause of the Intolerable acts?
dybincka [34]
The British thought colonists had to pay more taxes/cost for the French and Indian War. Parliament also wanted more control, so they did a series of acts (Coercive Act) that all ended into the Intolerable Act.

Hope that helped!

this battle while considered a draw caused the japanease to postpone their invasion of port moresby indefinetly
Alchen [17]
The correct answer is the Battle of the Coral Sea

Although both sides were winners in certain respects, it was a draw in the end which was a bad thing for Japan. The Japanese army had a tactical victory through the numbers of US troops defeated and ships sunk, the US had a strategic victory because Japan could not prepare for the following battles because of the losses suffered in this one.

During the 1500s, what was the most valuable export from new spain?
Eva8 [605]

‘Precious Metals

he discovery of large quantities of gold and silver in the New World made precious metals a key export from New Spain. This changed the history of the world economy. For instance, when precious metals entered Spain, this inflow drove up the Spanish price level and caused a balance of payments deficit.
