Answer:

the opportunity cost of the good measured on the horizontal axis.

Explanation:

The Production possibilities frontiers is a curve that shows the various combination of two goods a company can produce when all its resources are fully utilised.

The PPF is concave to the origin. This means that as more quantities of a product is produced, the fewer resources it has available to produce another good. As a result, less of the other product would be produced. So, the opportunity cost of producing a good increase as more and more of that good is produced.

Determining Amounts to be Paid on Invoices Determine the amount to be paid in full settlement of each of the following invoices,
ohaa [14]

Answer:

a. $19,500

b. $10,400

c. $7,448

d.  $3,467

e.  $3,168

Explanation:

The amounts for each cases are shown below:

a. Total amount paid equals to

= Merchandise amount - return and allowances

= $20,500 - $1,000

= $19,500

b. Total amount paid equals to

= Merchandise amount -  return and allowances - discount  + freight charges

= $11,400 - $1,400 - $100 + $500

= $10,400

The discount = (Merchandise amount -  return and allowances) × discount rate

= ($11,400 - $1,400) × 1%

= $100

c.  Total amount paid equals to

= Merchandise amount -  return and allowances - discount

= $8,400 - $800 - $152

= $7,448

The discount = (Merchandise amount -  return and allowances) × discount rate

= ($8400 - $800) × 2%

= $152

d. Total amount paid equals to

= Merchandise amount -  return and allowances - discount  + freight charges

= $3,800 - $500 - $33 + $200

= $3,467

The discount = (Merchandise amount -  return and allowances) × discount rate

= ($3,800 - $500) × 1%

= $100

e.  Total amount paid equals to

= Merchandise amount -  discount

= $3,200 - $32

= $3,168

The discount = Merchandise amount × discount rate

= $3,200 × 1%

= $32

fgiga [73]

Answer:

gain of $5,000

Explanation:

Wolf's gain = fair market value - book value = $45,000 - $40,000 = $5,000

a company must determine the gain or loss of an exchange transaction using the asset's book value and comparing it against its fair market value. If the FMV is higher than the book value, the company will recognize a gain. If the FMV is lower than the book value, then the company will recognize a loss.

An effective price ceiling is imposed in a market. This leads to the development of an illegal black market for the product. How
horsena [70]

Answer:

The price on the black market tends to be higher.

Explanation:

When price ceilings are placed in legal markets, buyers are able to get goods and services at lower prices. But sellers may not be willing to sell unlimited supply of goods at the low price. This could lead to artificial scarcity, and formation of black markets.

The main aim of black markets is for suppliers to maximise profits, so a supplier is able to sell his goods at an amount above the price ceiling set in the legal market.

Also black markets are characterised by practices such as tax evasion, which are beneficial to the suppliers.

It doesn't really matter whether customers want to buy something if they cannot afford it. This is why companies always try to make their products affordable so that most people can buy them. So, depending on how much money a person has, they will be allocate some of it to buy that particular product.

Absorption and Variable Costing Comparisons: Production Equals Sales Assume that Smuckers manufactures and sells 30,000 cases of
Irina18 [472]

Answer:

a. Cost per case under Absorption costing:

= Direct materials per case + Direct labor per case + Variable manufacturing overhead per case + Fixed manufacturing overhead per case

= 15 + 6 + 3 + 90,000/ 30,000 cases

= $27

Cost per case under Variable costing:

= Direct materials per case + Direct labor per case + Variable manufacturing overhead per case

= 15 + 6 + 3

= $24

b. First we need to calculate income under both methods:

Under Absorption costing:

= Sales - Cost of goods sold - Selling and Admin expenses

= (30,000 cases * 32) - (30,000 * 27) - 20,000

= $130,000

Under Variable Costing:

= Sales - Cost of Goods sold - Fixed manufacturing overhead - Selling and Admin expenses

= (30,000 * 32) - (30,000 * 24) - 90,000 - 20,000

= $130,000

<em>There is no difference in income because the cases manufactured equals the cases sold. </em>
