What was the enlightenment how was it instrumental in american government?
Mrrafil [7]
Simply the Age of Enlightenment inspired the American Revolution that sparked the creation of the American Government.

European politics, philosophy, science and communications were radically reoriented during the course of the “long 18th century” (1685-1815) as part of a movement referred to by its participants as the Age of Reason, or simply the Enlightenment.

Enlightenment philosophers John Locke, Charles Montesquieu, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau all developed theories of government in which some or even all the people would govern. These thinkers had a profound effect on the American and French revolutions and the democratic governments that they produced.

The ideas of the French Enlightenment philosophes strongly influenced the American revolutionaries. French intellectuals met in salons like this one to exchange ideas and define their ideals such as liberty, equality, and justice.

How did geography shape slavery in the 13 colonies?
olga_2 [115]

Answer:

Most people associate slavery with the American South. However, slaves were utilized in the Caribbean, as well as in all parts of the original colonies and territories that later became the United States. From the time Christopher Columbus (1451–1506) arrived in the Caribbean in 1492, Caribbean Indians were enslaved to work in mines and on plantations. Later, the Spanish began importing African slaves to work the sugar plantations. Because sugar crops required quick processing to avoid spoilage, Caribbean slave life was much harsher than that of slaves in North America. Nineteen-hour days and harsh working conditions led to disease and high death rates. Rather than improve conditions, plantation owners simply increased the number of slaves they imported.

How did the emphasis on culture wars during the 1988 election help cause polarization? Respond to the prompt in two or three sen
kkurt [141]

The emphasis on culture wars in the 1988 elections contributed to the rise of polarization because it made crime a racial factor.

How did the 1988 elections lead to polarization?

George Bush Snr. broadcast ads of Willie Horton who was a convicted killer and basically scared people into voting for him with promises of being tough on crime.

This polarized the nation as many people associated violent crime with African Americans.
