Which statement best describes the difference between these excerpts? Only Ovid suggests that romantic relationships encounter o
Masteriza [31]

The correct answer is D) Only Shakespeare shows a character warning against a doomed relationship.

The statement that best describes the difference between these excerpts is: Only Shakespeare shows a character warning against a doomed relationship.

The text refers to an excerpt of Ovid’s Pyramus and Thisbe and Shakespeare’s play “Romeo and Juliet”. William Shakespeare is the one who shows a character warning because the relationship between both characters is doomed. That is why Benvolio says to Romeo, “Ruled by me, forget to think of her.” Then Romeo answers, “Oh, teach me how I should forget to think. And Benvolio answers him back, “By giving liberty unto thine eyes. Examine other beauties.”

Thisbe and Pyramus are characters of the novel “Ovid’s Metamorphoses.” They are lovers. Romeo and Juliet are lovers in William Shakespeare’s play with the same name.

Is assertive, firmly confident ,and pushy a positive connotation a denotation or a negative connotation
JulijaS [17]

We can actually deduce here that:

 • assertive - a positive connotation.
 • firmly confident - a denotation
 • pushy - a negative connotation.

What is connotation?

Connotation is actually known to be a way of indicating the implication of a word. It shows the emotional side of a word. It it is positive or negative.

But denotation is seen as the primary meaning of a word. It is usually in contrast to the ideas that can be suggested in a word. In other words, it refers to the literal meaning of words.

Thus, we see that positive connotation refers to the word that brings about a positive feeling while negative connotation brings about negative feeling or feedback.

"Phil felt strangely fearless. He watched the ocean rotating up at him and thought: There's nothing more I can do." Analyze thes
Ostrovityanka [42]

The feeling invoked by the author is to show the freedom of accepting of fate by the narrator.

Explanation:

The feelings described here are numerous in small amount of time. The feeling of the narrator is at first described to be strangely fearless.

This makes one think that there is something to fear which is why it has become fearless.

But then the author describes the feeling by the use of imagery and we understand that Phil is in fact drowning and these emotions are his understanding that he will now not survive at all.

There is no chance to survive so he accepts his fate and feels strangely free.
