Legalism: Han Fei Tzu (280-233 BCE) was a legalist and a philosopher who lived during the Han dynasty. Han Fei Tzu’s ideas differed from Confucius's ideas. Remember that Confucius believed that government should be based on respect. Han Fei Tzu argued that rulers should rely on laws and rules.
