What would happen to an animal cell with an internal salt concentration of 0.8% if it were placed in a salt solution with a conc

entration of 0.2%? Why?

Answer:

This simply explain the concept of osmosis. A solution of 0.8% is lower in conc. (hypotonic)compare to that of 0..2%(hypertonic)Therefore, the inner cells layer would lose water to higher hypertonic concentrated medium.

water flows from .8% to salt solution of 0.2%

This follows the concept of osmosis which is the movement of water molecule from the region of higher water potential(.08) to region of lower water potential(0.2) but high solute potential, through a semiportable ,membrane, the plasma membrane.

Based on the concept of energy transfer, explain why one acre of land can produce more vegetables for human consumption than bee
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
There are some reasons which could be mentioned:
1)Energy is lost as heat at each feeding level
2)Consumers who feed directly on plants have more energy for themselves than consumers feeding on other consumers. Indeed, energy again is lost in each level.
3)Feeding cattle is not productive, because energy must be transferred from plants to the cattle and then to people.

Identify the results of a substance losing energy. Select all that apply.
Tema [17]
B and C

When particles get colder and lose energy, they begin to move less and less. Gas particles move the most, with solid particles moving the least. So, it makes sense that if the substance loses energy and gets colder, it will also transform from gaseous state to liquid state since the particles are also moving slower as a result of it losing energy.

The degree to which chromatin is compacted greatly affects its accessability for ____________ , and thus, gene expression.
iVinArrow [24]

The degree to which chromatin is compacted greatly affects its accessibility for transcription, and thus, gene expression.

What is Transcription?

This is the process which involves copying a segment of DNA into RNA in organisms.

When chromatin is condensed, DNA becomes less accessible for transcription factors and vice versa which was why it was chosen as the most appropriate choice.
