The great depression was a horrible part of US history starting in august of 1929 and ending in march of 1933. Surprisingly so, this all started on Wall Street. The great depression was the dark ages for the economy. Around 90% of the stock market lost its value and banks failed left and right. There is said to be over 10,000 failed banks during this time. People were losing their jobs, homes, and going hungry. Trade politics making the whole thing worse.
With so many people on the streets, going hungry, even if you managed to survive there was no ignoring it.
