It is important to be able to see a situation from another person's point of view because it is easy to judge people. You don't know what someone has been through and you don't know how they would interpret something. That's why, before you judge someone based on their reaction/perception of something, you must try and see things from their point of view.

Let's say you have a family. Your parents are together and happy. From a kid who's parents are divorced, this may seem strange to them. So, if you invite that kid over and your parents are inviting and happy and loving to each other, it may make that person uncomfortable. Now, before you go and judge them for being uncomfortable around your perfectly normal parents, you have to consider how strange and not normal this is to them. You have to consider that they may have never seen their parents happy before and the sight of your happy parents may confuse them and maybe even scare them because it's something they have never seen or experienced before.
