The Louisiana Constitution is a constitution of a sovereign nation/country/state (what ever you want to call it), that is a member of a Federation.
The Federal Constitution is the constitution of the Federation (hence the terms Federal Constitution, Federal Government, etc, not National, as some seem to think) that the States are members of.
The biggest difference is, the State Governments, and therefore their constitutions, is that they are for Unitarian Governments, where as the Federal government, and its constitution are for the Government of the Federation.
