X=7. 42/14=3. so x+5 times 3 = 7x-13. do the math, x =7. 7+5=12. 7(7)-13= 36. 12x3=36. boom.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Since they are similar we can say

(7x-13)/42=(x+5)/14 upon cross multiplication we have

14(7x-13)=42(x+5) divide each side by 14

7x-13=3(x+5) expanding right side

7x-13=3x+15 adding 13 to each side

7x=3x+28 subtracting 3x from each side

4x=28 dividing each side by 4

x=7

A car travels 35 mph for r+2 hours,how far does it travel
Paladinen [302]
Recall d = rt, distance = rate * time.

\bf d=rt\qquad
\begin{cases}
r=\stackrel{mph}{35}\\
t=\stackrel{hours}{r+2}
\end{cases}\implies d=35(r+2)\implies d=35r+70

What system of linear inequalities is shown in the graph? Enter your answers in the boxes.
riadik2000 [5.3K]
First, find the equation of the lines:

y=-2x+2 and y=1/3x+2

We see that the shaded part is below the y=1/3x+2 graph, so it becomes y<1/3x+2 (It's not ≤ since it's a dotted line)

For the y=-2x+2, the shaded part is under the line as well, so it becomes y≤-2x+2 (Here, we include the ≤ since it's a solid line)

So your answer is y<1/3x+2 and y≤-2x+2.

2 x - 5 + 7 y - 3 = 9 x - 1 - y -8 Solve For X AND Y (SHOW WORK PLEASE)
Maru [420]

Answer:

\large\boxed{\sf x = \frac{8y+1}{7} }

\large\boxed{\sf x = \frac{7x-1}{8} }

<u>Group the Variable's</u>:

2 x - 5 + 7 y - 3 = 9 x - 1 - y -8

2x -9x + 7y +y = -1 -8 +5 + 3

-7x + 8y = -1

<u><em>From this find x and y</em></u>

<u>For X</u>

-7x + 8y = -1

-7x = -1 -8y

7x = 8y + 1

x = (8y +1)/7

<u>For Y</u>

-7x + 8y = -1

8y = -1 +7x

y = (7x -1)/8
