For both, kids were no longer forced to work on farms since their parents would get jobs in cities in factories. In France and Great Britain, children of the lower classes, or proletariat classes, would still have to work in factories and mines under harsh conditions, as the chi8ldren in America started going to public schools. In Europe, if you were wealthy enough to not force your kids to get a job, your kids would be homeschooled by the maids and servants.
