Answer:

1.  Muhammad bin qasim was an Arab military commander of the Umayyad Caliphate who led the Muslim conquest of Sindh and Multan. Al-Hajjaj sent Muhammad Bin Qasim to attack Sindh as new arab allied with Al Hajj's opponent.

2.  After the conquest, he adopted a conciliatory policy, asking for acceptance of Muslim rule by the natives in return for non-interference in their religious and cultural practices. He also established peace with a strong taxation system.

3.  After the conquest of Sindh, Qasim adopted the Hanafi school of Sharia law which regarded Hindus, Buddhists and Jains as "dhimmis" and "People of the Book", allowing them religious freedom as long as they continued to pay the tax known as "jizya".

The word dhimmi literally means "protected person", referring to the state's obligation under sharia to protect the individual's life, property, as well as freedom of religion, in exchange for loyalty to the state and payment of the jizya tax, which complemented the zakat, or obligatory alms, paid by the Muslim subjects.

Which phrase best defines laissez-faire?
zalisa [80]

B.) to leave alone and let be

Laissez-faire refers to a free market economic policy where the government has no control over the economy. It is a French term which means to "let it be".

Capitalism in its pure form is a laissez-faire economic system. During the late 19th century, the US practiced laissez-faire capitalism. The government had no regulations on the economic system and employers were allowed to run their businesses as they wished. In a free system like this there are opportunities to become very wealthy but workers are often exploited.

Why is the period after the cold war sometimes called an interlude in foreign policy
maksim [4K]

Answer:

Explanation:For those of us who came of age during the Cold War, its key features are etched in our memories. For almost five decades, from the late 1940s until the demise of the Soviet Union, the Cold War defined the main contours of the international landscape. It was, at its core, an ideologically charged confrontation between the West, that is, the United States and its allies, and the Soviet Union and its satellites. Americans accepted that the stakes involved were nothing less than the preservation of our way of life.
