Some ways you can prepare if you live in an earthquake zone are:

- Know your risk. Research the area and find out if you live near an active fault.

- Create a disaster plan

- Prepare a plan/list of things you would grab in case of an earthquake

Things you should discuss with your family are:

- Plan where to meet if you get separated.

-Make a supply kit that includes enough food and water for several days, a flashlight, a fire extinguisher and a whistle. Include non-perishable foods, cleaning supplies, and water for several days, in case services are cut off in your area.
