The spread of roots around a plant is usually greater than the depth of the roots is a completely false statement. It totally depends on the type of plant in regards to the type of root it will have. Normally there are two kinds of roots and they are taproot and fibrous roots. In case of taproots the main root goes downwards and smaller roots branches out of it. In case of taproots, it is true that the spread of roots is smaller than the depth of the roots. In case of fibrous roots, the spread of roots is greater than that of the depth of the roots. A wig tree is an example of a plant having taproot. in the wig tree the root can go to a depth of around 120 meters.

Contrast meiosis with mitosis, mentioning homologous chromosomes, chromatids, tetrads and crossing over.
Ratling [72]

Answer:

Explanation:

Mitosis takes place in somatic cells of the body while the meiosis takes place in the germ cells. The mitosis is the equational division while the meiosis is reductional division.

The meiosis has 2 cell divisions i.e. meiosis I and meiosis II. The mitosis is a single division.

The pairing between the homologous chromosome/synapsis occurs in meiosis. It is not found in mitosis.

During the pachytene stage of meiosis, crossing over takes place. The homologous chromosome exchanges its genetic materials in crossing over.

In mitotic cell division, the chromatids do not exchange their genetic material.

The chromosome numbers are always the same as the parent cell in the mitotic division. In meiosis, the number of the chromosome turns to half of their parent cells.

There are 4 haploid chromosomes/tetrads forms at the end of meiosis. In meiotic division 2 chromosomes form from the parent cells.

White blood cells can be called the strong defender of our body from foreign substances. These cells are responsible for increasing the immunity power of a person.

Explanation:

Monocytes cells are also called white blood cells. These cells play a role an antigen that fight with outer danger and protect other white blood cells as well and prepare other cells to reduce the dead blood cells and renovate new blood cells.

These cells prevent cancer cells and fight against foreign antigens or particles. The Monocytes are the cells that develop in the bone marrow of a person and develop red blood cells.

In white blood cells, some macrophages cells are called the scavengers in the bone marrow that eat foreign particles and increase the immunity power of the person. The diagnose can be done with the help of blood testing.
