Explain how foreign occupation could encourage nationalist sentiment in various colonies
xeze [42]

Foreign occupation gave the nationalists in the country a common cause to unite.

Explanation:

Foreign occupation is a phenomenon that has resulted in many nationalist movements across the world for a long time.

This is because the foreign rule in itself sows the common cause against which the nation can unite itself and then fight  back or throw away with diplomacy their own rulers.

This common cause binds the thread of self determination and rule of the nation under one rule is what is requited for nationalism to rise and it happens here rather strongly.

The people of the nation set aside differences against a common enemy of the state.

Using four or more complete sentences, describe how the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 and the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934
tangare [24]

Answer:

A sample response follows: The Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 was a big step forward for Native Americans as it allowed Native Americans to become United States citizens with limited rights. For example, Native Americans were not allowed to vote in some states until the mid-1900s. The bill opened up new legal routes for the Native Americans to claim rights to land, natural resources, and compensation for poor treatment from the government. The Indian Reorganization Act of 1934 was aimed at re-establishing Native American culture and traditions and government. Unallotted lands were handed over to the tribes who then created governments that would manage the lands and interact with local, state, and national governments.

The president, Congress members, lobbies, and even private citizens can propose legislations, but they do so
Zina [86]

Answer:

1.       As a Private Citizen

You, as a citizen of the state can propose bills for the country. But in order for this suggestion to be successfully noticed, you must first pass it to a representative of the Congress or one of their staff because only a member of Congress can propose a bill.

2.       As a ‘Lobbyist’

Not anyone can be a lobbyist, it is a term used for registered citizens that seek to change laws by petitions or requests.  They try to influence laws and legislations that they feel are wrong. Lobbyists let the Congress know about the people’s need and tell them how one bill can help or hurt the people they represent.

3.       As a member of Congress

Although only a member of Congress can propose a bill, it does not automatically pass. Before a bill becomes law, it will have to be voted by the House, approved by the Senate and finally by the President.

4.       As the President

The President can also propose or suggest bills but it must still be voted upon by the Senate and Congress and only then will it become a law. The President does not have the power to directly make new bills.
