Answer:Mr. and Mrs. Winterbottom have a distant relationship. They interact with each other like they’re playing the role of a working husband and housewife instead of a loving couple. Mrs. Winterbottom feels discomfort and saddened by her family’s lack of interest in her. Especially by the total disregard they have for her.
