Jada was training for a race. She ran 1⅓ miles on Monday. On Tuesday, she only ran of ⅚ a mile. She decided to take the day off
Lorico [155]

Answer: 5 5/12 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

The following are the distance covered by Jada for the week.

Monday = 1 1/3 miles

Tuesday = 5/6 miles

Wednesday = 0

Thursday = 2 3/4 miles

Friday = 1 1/2 miles

Total distance for the week will be:

= 1 1/3 + 5/6 + 2 3/4 + 1 1/2

The lowest common multiple of 3,6,4 and 2 is 12. The fractions will then be

1 4/12 + 10/12 + 2 9/12 + 6/12

= 3 29/12

= 3 + 2 5/12

= 5 5/12

Jada ran 5 5/12 miles this week

Jeff uses 3 fifth- size strips to model 3/5. he wants to use tenth size strips to models an equivalent fraction. how many tenth
Anuta_ua [19.1K]
He will need 6 tenth size strips because if you put 3/5 vertically with another fraction beside of it that had the numerator blank and the bottom 10. You do this because Jeff uses fifth size strips so 5 represents the strips and you need tenth size strips so you find our numerator for the tenth size strips. You find out how many times 5 can go into 10 or 5 times what equals 10 and it's 2. So whatever you do to the bottom you do to the top. You times 5 by 2 at the bottom and get 10 for the tenth size strips and 3 times 2 at the top yoi get 6 and that is 6/10 is your answer
