Answer: There are few ‘laws’ in science. Those ‘laws’ are so named for historical reasons, but they are theoretical in nature. They set out what happens when a theory is applied in practice. A theory is simply the best explanation we have for understanding why some process takes place and predicting what the result will be.

Explanation: Anyone who describes something as “just a theory” does not understand what a theory is. Laws are arbitrary human rules. Theories are severely tested and re-tested explanations of why things happen in the real physical world and can be used to make predictions about outcomes.

Some would say that theories are about why something happens and laws (in science) describe what happens. But this simply makes a scientific ‘law’ a subset of a scientific theory, explaining how to make predictions.

Alex is participating in a 50 meter dash. Predict the most important chemical process his muscles will rely on during this race.
natta225 [31]

Answer: The correct answer to the question is option E

BOTH ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION AND CREATININE PHOSPHATE BREAKDOWN.

Explanation: 50 meter dash is a race,a form of exercise, energy is required as well as muscle contraction and chemical processes.

Alex muscles will rely on the following chemical processes during the race;anaerobic respiration and creatine phosphate breakdown.

These chemical processes are explained below;

Aerobic respiration uses oxygen to generate energy but unlike aerobic respiration, anaerobic respiration breaks down glucose to provide energy and create adenosine triphosphate(ATP), lactic acid and ethanol.

Muscle contraction cannot take place without the supply of energy by ATP, molecules can store energy in it's phosphate form, this molecule is known as creatine phosphate, when this happens,ATP that is in excess will then transfer it's energy to creatine, this action will produce creatinine phosphate and adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and they will now be stored as reserve of energy that can be used to produce more ATP and thus energy is produced.

creativ13 [48]

Answer: Option C) Animal

The cell wall is tough, flexible and fairly rigid layer that surrounds some types of cells. It is located outside the cell membrane and provides cells with structural support and protection. All BUT ONE type of organism has cells with cell walls. That is an animal

Explanation:

One distinguishing feature of animal cells compared to other living cells is the absence of cell wall.

However, the animal cell possess a cell membrane, with which it regulates substances entering or leaving the cell, and also provide protection and mechanical support for the cell against foreign invaders such as pathogens.

A bird flies at 12.5 meters per second. the wind speed is 4.5 meters per second. what is the speed of the bird when it flies wit
Agata [3.3K]

Answer:

17m/s

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Speed of the bird  = 12.5m/s

Speed of the wind  = 4.5m/s

Unknown:

Speed of the bird when it flies with the wind = ?

Solution:

The speed of the bird when it flies with the wind is the sum of the speed of the bird and the speed of the wind.

  Speed of the bird with wind  = 12.5m/s + 4.5m/s  = 17m/s
