<em>It equals 2 because you are speaking of a clock. 9+5 would normally just be 14 but when you are using clock terms, you would have to think of it like this, 9:00+5:00. In all reality the normal answer would be 14, but in this case it is 14:00, which is military time for 2 o'clock. If u were adding 9+5 in the counter-clockwise direction you would technically be subtracting due to clockwise being the POSITIVE direction, whereas counter-clockwise would be the NEGATIVE direction. That was somewhat of a cross between a math problem and a riddle. Good job.</em>
