Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

I assume this is what you want to find: 34=1x+2

__________________________________________________________

So basically if you do that problem out, you can find it and check your work.

__________________________________________________________

32 miles to get to 34 because after the first 2 it is a continuous 1 mile every track practice until he gets to 34 miles, so 34-2= the 32 miles he must run.

Brain was asked to round 4.44 to the nearest tenth and said it was 4.5 Is he correct? Why or Why not?
Annette [7]
Brian (I think you meant Brian haha..) is incorrect because the tenth place is the number right after the decimal which is a 4. If you are rounding to the tenth place that means that you have to look at the number to the right of that, which is 4. 5 and up means you round up and 4 and down means you round down. This is a 4, so you keep the 4 after the decimal and get rid of the last 4. Therefore, when rounded it would be: 4.4.
Hope this helped! Good luck! :)

Write the equation of a piecewise function with a jump discontinuity at x =3. Then, determine which step of the 3-step test for
seraphim [82]

Answer:

Here's a possible example:

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) =\begin{cases} x & \quad x < 3\\x+3 & \quad x \geq 3\\\end{cases}

Each piece is linear, so the pieces are continuous by themselves.

We need consider only the point at which the pieces meet (x = 3).

\displaystyle \lim_{x \longrightarrow 3^{-}} f(x) = \lim_{x \longrightarrow 3^{-}} x = 3\\\\\displaystyle \lim_{x \longrightarrow 3^{+}} f(x) = \lim_{x \longrightarrow 3^{+}} x+3 = 6\\\\f(3) = x + 3 = 6\\\\\displaystyle \lim_{x \longrightarrow 3^{-}} f(x) \neq f(3)

The left-hand limit does not equal ƒ(x), so there is a jump discontinuity at x =3.
