The conflicts;

  1. Balkan: Russia, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian had crossroads in Balkan. Russia wanted a share of the Balkan territory. For this reason, Balkan had to join with some governments to wage wars with Russia.
  2. Korea and Vietnam: These two countries fought the influence of democratic from Western influence like the United States after the war. These were communist countries that resisted the influence of the United States on them.
  3. Ukraine and Russia: After the Soviet Union disintegrated, individual states have been fighting for sovereignty. Russia has taken over most of these states but the United States is helping most of the smaller states to resist Russian attacks. Russia took Crimea from Ukraine. Crimea has been given back to Ukraine.
  4. Syria, Turkey, and Iraq: States in these regions who are divided on ethnic lines have been struggling for independence.  
  5. Sudan: After an election which many believed was not fair there has been tension in this region fueling  the South Sudanese Civil war. In 2013, there was a suspected coup, which led to a fight between two parties namely; SPLM-IO and SPLM. SPLM stands for Sudan People's Liberation Movement. SPLM-IO is short for Sudan People's Liberation- in restriction.
