The result was 43 dead, 1,189 injured, over 7,200 arrests and more than 2,000 buildings destroyed. The scale of the riot was surpassed in the United States only by the 1863 New York City draft riots during the American Civil War, and the 1992 Los Angeles riots. The riot was prominently featured in the news media, with live television coverage, extensive newspaper reporting, and extensive stories in Time and Life magazines. The staff of the Detroit Free Press won the 1968 Pulitzer Prize for general local reporting for its coverage."

bekas [8.4K]

Answer:

Radicalism can be defined as the actions and beliefs of people who advocate complete political reform. During 1890s to 1945, some radical groups had ties with two great political parties in America. The populist party  and the Democratic party.

Explanation:

The populist party called for the abolition of national banks, civil service reform, and government control of railways this was supported by William Jennings Bryan and some other leaders in the Democratic party.

Futhermore, some major trade unions were linked to the Democratic party like the American Federation of Labor.

The American Civil Liberties Union was formed in 1921 when more radical organisations were subject to violent attacks especially during world war 1, to protect immigrants that were threatened with deportation and American nationals  that were threatened with criminal charges.

Why didn't the US annex Cuba after the Spanish American War?
gayaneshka [121]

Answer:

The reason why the US did not annex Cuba was because people with money did not want to. Henry Teller, senator from Colorado, lobbied to pass the Teller Amendment which explicitly stated that the US, and President McKinley should not annex Cuba under any circumstances.
