The Finches have the most power and highest status in Maycomb. Atticus is a lawyer and is one of the most educated men in town. While they are not considered the wealthiest family in town, they are more financially secure than the other two families. The Cunnighams do not have much power and status within the town. They are poor and struggle to make ends meet. However, they are respected in town. They do the best they can with what they have and always settle a debt with some goods or services. The Ewells have the least power and lowest social status. They are extremely poor and uneducated. Mr. Ewell is not respected around town because of the way he abuses alcohol and his family.

Iteru [2.4K]

The poems "From the Dark Tower" and "A Black Man Talks Of Reaping" are heart- touching poems.

Explanation:

These poems are written by Countee Cullen and Arna Bontemps. These poets explain about the feelings of black people and their resentment towards the society.

The poets explain about how the black people in America are slaved and now its time that they have had enough. They will soon start a revolution to fight against this oppression. The poet explains elaborately about the situation by describing how black people do all the handwork and white people reap benefits from it.

The plan sounded fun, rent water skis and have Gary
Crank

Completely unrelated, but that is a great sentence, I want that painted as a quote on my wall.

Also, the punctiation seems right to me. But you might be able to use a ";" instead of a comma, im gonna check that real quick.

What makes helena's line "from these that my poor company detest" (3.2.463)
Gre4nikov [31]

This is an example of dramatic irony because Helena doesn't know that the men who despise her are bewitched, but the public knows it.

What is tragic irony?

 • It is a literary resource.
 • It is the way to separate the conviction of the audience and the character.
 • It is a way of showing a situation that the reader is aware of and the character is not.

When she talks about the companions that detest her, she is referring to the contempt she is receiving from the men who have accompanied her. However, this contempt is not real, as men are bewitched and manipulated to despise her.

Although the reader knows this, Helena does not, and therefore, this is an example of dramatic irony.
