Answer:

Due to erosion.

Explanation:

An unconformity refers to a type of geologic contact that occurs boundary between rocks. The main causes of Unconformities is erosion, wears away rocks and rock deposits never form. The most common cause of unconformity is erosion in which the younger rocks spread on older rocks with the passage of time. In Cardenas layer, erosion is also occurs that leads to unconformity in that region which leads to the formation of boundaries in the rocks.

13. A soil contains 30% smectite, 10% kaolinite, and 2% organic matter. Calculate an estimated CEC for this hypothetical soil.
marta [7]

Answer:

estimated CEC for given hypothetical soil is  26.25 meq/100g.

Explanation:

Average CEC in smectite =  62.5 meq/100g. Since it ranges from(25-100 meq/100g)

Average CEC in kaolinite = 10 meq/100g.

Average CEC in organic matter = 325meq/100g.

Range(250-400 meq/100g).

Estimated CEC for given soil will be,

=30\% \times\ avg.\ CEC\ in\ smectite + 10\% \times \ avg.\ CEC\ in \ kaolinite +2\% \times avg\ CEC\ in\ organic\ matter.

= 0.3\times 62.5 + 00.1 \times 10 + 0.02\times 325

= 26.25 meq/100g.

mars1129 [50]

Answer:

They are extra high and extra low tides.

Explanation:

Tides are caused by the moon, and on some moon phases, the tides are higher or lower. Spring tides occur during the full and new moon. When it is a  full moon, the tides are higher because the gravitational pull is much stronger with the sun also pulling at the oceans.
