The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Unfortunately, you did not specify the message Roosevelt received or the context of this event to know the time and the situation.

However, trying to help you we can comment on the following. We assume you are talking about the "Infamy Speech" delivered by US President Franklin D. Roosevelt after the Pearl Harbor attack of December 1941.

President FDR mentioned in that speech delivered at US Congress on December 8, 1941, that the message he received an hour before the attack contained "no threat or hint of an armed attack," letting the members of teh Congres and the American people know that the US had been the victim of a dishonest move on the part of the Japanese government and that the US never provoked or incited Japan to attack Pearl Harbor. That the US had been a victim of Japanese aggression and that was the reason why Roosevelt was asking Congress for a declaration of war against Japan.

That is how the United States entered World War II.

What Techniques did Joseph Stalin use to strengthen his power in the Soviet Union following Vladimir Lenin’s death?
antoniya [11.8K]

Joseph Stalin is a textbook dictator that was not choosing means in order to strengthen his power and control of the country. Stalin's tactics were mostly consisted of fear, elimination, and imprisonment. In order to avoid and confrontations and strong political opponents, Stalin eliminated pretty much everyone that his people were able to capture and was posing a political threat to him in his eyes. These people were either killed in cold blood, or were taken in the Gulag where they died because of the terrible conditions. Everyone that was going to express an opinion against Stalin or the Communist Party was targeted and was ending up in prison, usually never coming home again. In order to nullify attempts for separatist movements, which was highly possible considering the numerous ethnic groups in the Soviet Union, Stalin was systematically killing, imprisoning, or relocating people of certain ethnic groups in order to break their nation core and identity.

Answer:

Women's suffrage

Explanation:

Progressive women became increasingly involved in activism with the goal of acquiring equal voting rights. Women only got the right to vote in the U.S. in 1920, thanks to the 19th Amendment and the progressive movement.

In fact, the first wave of feminism is considered to be the movement that achieved the women's suffrage, and some of its most important leaders were Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucy Stone, and Ida B. Wells.
