Answer:

NASA was established

Explanation:

The U.S. government started the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in direct response to the Soviet Union's 1957 launch of Sputnik I. When Sputnik launched, it both embarrassed and instilled fear into the Americans that the Soviets had gotten to space first, and were *this* much closer to being able to launch nuclear missiles at the U.S.

They launched the first successful satellite into orbit on January 31st, 1958; Explorer I, and secured the support of Congress to officially establish NASA and beat the Soviet Union in the Space Race.

Which has been ruled by the Supreme Court to be cruel and unusual punishment?
EastWind [94]

The correct answer is jail for narcotics addiction.

Jailing addicts would result in a withdrawal, which would be cruel and painful for the inmate, having similar effect to physical torture once they wouldn't have any kind of treatment. They might be considered a sick person instead of a criminal, who needs to get proper care, not be thrown in jail.
