Dias(1450-1500was the Portuguese explorer that adventured to navigate the new routes and reach the southern tip of the African continent in 1488. Indeed, he was the first explorer from Europe to reach that far and explore this land. On the other hand, Vasco de Gama just sailed around the tip of South Africa.
