Answer:

The loss is "$10,000" and the gain is "$25,000".

Explanation:

The given amount is:

Cost,

= $215,000

Accumulated depreciation,

= $185,000

Book value,

= $30,000

Now,

The loss on sales will be:

= Sale \ price-Book \ value

= 20,000-30,000

= 10,000 ($)

The gain on sales will be:

= Sales \ price-Book \ value

= 55,000-30,000

= 25,000 ($)

Answer:D.None of the option is correct, the correct answer is Buy; savings=$203,000

Explanation:

The firm will Incurred the total fixed overhead it decides to make.

The total cost of making 6000 units is $163*6000=$978,000

The total cost of buying is $144*6000= $864,000 and when we deduct $89,000 to be saved from fixed overhead by buying we have a total cost of( $864,000-$89,00) =775,000.

This invariably means the company will save ($978,000-$775,000) which is equal to= $203,000 by buying.

A monopolist produces a. more than the socially efficient quantity of output but at a higher price than in a competitive market.
irina [24]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

First, a monopoly produce less than the socially efficient quantity because as the figure shows, the quantity produced is determined by the intersection between the marginal cost curve (MC) and the marginal revenue curve (MR) and not by the intersection between the MC and the demand. For instance, there is a deadweight loss (shown by the figure).

Second, equilibrium price is always higher than in a competitive market because is always higher than the MC. The price is determined by the equilibrium quantity (found before) and the demand. Also, there are barries to entry and so monopolist have always price control.
