The answer is 8.4, how I got this was by simply using tangent which gives me tan35 = x/12, use a calculator to solve and find x

Answer:

8.4cm

Step-by-step explanation:

We can start by taking a look at the problem, and noting that we have on side of a right triangle and need the second side; not that we will not need to interact with the hypotenuse. This lets us know to use the trigonometric function tangent.

The tangent function (from this point foward 'tan') is defined as opposite/adjacent.

First, taking a look at the angle, we can write the formula tan(35) = x/12

Next, we can cross multiply and get 12(tan(35)) = x

Then, we can use a calculator and calculate than x = 8.4cm

I hope this explanation is in-depth enough and that it helps you to learn this material! Good luck on your trigonometric trail!

In training for an Olympic bike race, Ped Al Moore trained by riding 216 miles in 12 hours, for an average of 18 miles per hour.
k0ka [10]

Answer:

s=\frac{216}{t}

Step-by-step explanation:

In training for an Olympic bike race, Ped Al Moore trained by riding 216 miles in 12 hours, for an average of 18 miles per hour.

Speed is inversely proportional to the time taken

speed =\frac{distance}{time}

speed is 18 miles per hour and distance is 216 miles

18=\frac{216}{12}

Let 's' be the speed and 't' be the different time

speed =\frac{distance}{time}

s =\frac{distance}{t}

Replace distance by 216

s=\frac{216}{t}

Alex73 [517]

Answer:

∴ 2nd equation can be used to determine the length of other leg.

  Which is known as a=\sqrt{13^{2}-12^{2}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

A Right Triangle has hypotenuse of 13 units and one leg has 12 units.

We know Pythagoras Formula for Right Triangle;

Hypotenuse^{2} =Perpendicular^{2} +Base^{2}

Here hypotenuse and one leg values in above equation and take Base=a;

13^{2} =12^{2} +a^{2}

a^{2} =13^{2} -12^{2}

a=\sqrt{13^{2}-12^{2}}

So 2nd equation can be used to determine the length of other leg.

Solve the equation using the distributive property and properties ofequally 1/2 (x+6)=18 what is the value of X
Natali [406]

x = 30

The distributive property says that we need to multiply what's in the brackets by 1/2 (so 1/2*x and 1/2*6) to get the equation 1/2x + 3 = 18.

Then we need to subtract our constant, 3, from boths sides to get 1/2x = 15.

Multiply both sides by two to isolate x and you get x = 30.

Hope this helps! :)
