Explanation:

The tense of a verb tells us when the action happened or took place . We have 3 main tenses which are  

-The Past Tense --- which tells us things that have already happened in the past. eg-- I traveled to Paris last summer.

-The Present Tense ----which tells us things that are happening in the now(currently) or happens frequently.

eg-- The train arrives at 6.30 am  

-The Future Tense ---which tells us things that have not yet occured even though they are expected to happen.

Eg - The Principal will retire soon.
