American Identity changed after World War I as they began to get involved in foreign politics especially in Europe. Before the war, America remained an isolated state that concerned itself only with the Western hemisphere. The war drastically changed the military, government and the lives of citizens. The United States became a world leader in economics, industry, and trade.
