Suzie has a recipe that will make 12 cupcakes, but she wants to make 60 cupcakes. If the original recipe calls for 5 cups of flour, how much flour will she need for the scaled recipe?
The first thing you do is set up your equation:
5/12 = x/60 
To solve: You cross multiply, then divide:
5*60= 300 then 300/12 which = 25 cups of flour
