Part A: What do the x-intercepts and maximum value of the graph represent? What are the intervals where the function is increasing and decreasing, and what do they represent about the sale and profit? (6 points)

Part B: What is an approximate average rate of change of the graph from x = 3 to x = 5, and what does this rate represent? (4 points)

A city council consists of eight Democrats and eight Republicans. If a committee of six people is selected, find the probability
saw5 [17]

Answer:

39.16% probability of selecting three Democrats and three Republicans

Step-by-step explanation:

A probability is the number of desired outcomes divided by the number of total outcomes.

In this question, the order in which the people are selected is not important. So we use the combinations formula to solve this question.

Combinations formula:

C_{n,x} is the number of different combinations of x objects from a set of n elements, given by the following formula.

C_{n,x} = \frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}

Desired outcomes:

3 Democrats, from a set of 8.

3 Republicans, from a set of 8.

D = C_{8,3}*C_{8,3} = (C_{8,3})^{2} = (\frac{8!}{3!5!})^{2} = 56^2 = 3136

Total outcomes:

6 people from a set of 16.

T = \frac{16!}{6!10!} = 8008

Probability:

p = \frac{D}{T} = \frac{3136}{8008} = 0.3916

39.16% probability of selecting three Democrats and three Republicans

Here is the pic, pls solve it, I am very bad at these stuff.
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

About 339.12 (using 3.14)

About 339.29 (Using PI function on a calculator)

It should say on top if you should use 3.14 or the pi function

Step-by-step explanation:

So find the areas of the circle first, the radius is 3 so we square that and times pi becuase circle of area is pi*raidus^2

So you’ll get 9 Pi

Now there are 2 so we double that

Thats 18 Pi

Now the middle, I‘d like to think of t like a soda can, if you slice a line in the middle And flatten out the curve, you’ll get a. Rectangle which is L*W. Now we know one side (15) and now the other side is just the circumfrcne of the circle (Circumfrnce is the pereimtr of the circle). Now Circumfrnce formula is either 2*radius*pi or just pi*diameter. So we only have radius so 3*2 is 6, 6*pi is 6 pi. Now we multiply 6 pi and 15 which is 90 Pi. Now 90 pi + 18 Pi is 108 pi. Now it depend on what the directions asked, if asked to use 3.14 for pi, its about 339.12 but if asked to use pi function, it’s be 339.29. If asked to use other less common ones, use multiply the thing they asked you to use by 108.

Use the table.
zubka84 [21]

Solution:

The table which is about kind of jeans and it's color is

Style       Color

regular      light blue

loose fit    indigo

boot cut     washed

slim fit       black

 slim fit     blue

(a) A regular can be chosen out of five  colors, A loose fit can also be chosen in five colors,Similarly a boot cut as well as slim fit can also  be chosen out of five colors.

If you consider this as a relation , total number of relation that is total jeans =  1×5 + 1×5 +1×5+1×5= 20 Jeans = 10 Pairs of jeans(Possible)

(b)  Total number of jeans , if i have one pair of jeans of each possible style and color = As there are 5 colors and 4 styles , the jeans are in pair = 5×4×2=40

Number of Black color jeans = 2× black color in  4 styles= 2×4=8

Probability of an event = \frac{\text{Total possible outcome}}{\text{Total favorable outcome}}

Probability of choosing a pair of black jeans at random=\frac{8}{40}=\frac{1}{5}
