They used to help in many house work and to respect more the decisions of their parents. They had their time to play but many of the things they did had to do with playing innocent and sometimes were accompanied with antics and naughtiness. Todays teenagers are more independent from their house chores and their parents. Remember that before world war, many of the teenagers were enroled in activities related to that war so they received better discipline that those from this epoch.
