Answer:

A summary can show your understanding of the main points of an assigned reading or viewing, so your instructor might ask you to summarize in order to know that you’ve understood the material.

You might summarize a section from a source, or even the whole source, when the ideas in that source are critical to an assignment you are working on and you feel they need to be included, but they would take up too much space in their original form.

You might also summarize when the general ideas from a source are important to include in your work, but the details included in the same section as those main ideas aren’t needed for you to make your point. For example, technical documents or in-depth studies might go into much, much more detail than you are likely to need to support a point you are making for a general audience. These are situations in which a summary might be a good option.

Summarizing is also an excellent way to double-check that you understand a text–if you can summarize the ideas in it, you likely have a good grasp on the information it is presenting. This can be helpful for school-related work, such as studying for an exam or researching a topic for a paper, but is also useful in daily life when you encounter texts on topics that are personally or professionally interesting to you.

In an essay examining the relationship of humanity s s i t r o c u a certs that man is Born Free and everywhere he is in Chains
Leya [2.2K]

Answer:

A). Paraphrase.

Explanation:

Paraphrasing is demonstrated as the restatement of a particular text or statement using own words instead of directly quoting the speaker's words. It primarily intends to explain and clarify the author's idea in different words without altering its actual meaning.

As per the question, the given statement exemplify a 'paraphrase' as it restates the author's message in words distinct from the original words of the speaker but conveys the similar meaning that 'man is Born Free and everywhere he is in Chains.' Thus, it implies that the author's idea is being conveyed using different words yet keeping the meaning and facts intact. Thus, option A is the correct answer.

Why doesn’t Bruno try to protect his friend when Lieutenant kotler attacks shmuel
maksim [4K]
I think Bruno didn’t try to protect his friend when Shmuel is attacked by Lieutenant Kotler is because he was so scare of what Lieutenant did to the servant. Bruno didn’t have the courage to stand up for his friend eventhrough that he really did want to.
• Have you ever done something to a friend that made you feel bad or ashamed? How does shame and remorse figure into the friendship between Bruno and Shmuel? How does Bruno show his remorse?

Everyone makes mistakes and also did I. Right after Bruno answered Lieutenant, he felt ashame about his words. Bruno was too innocent, he didn’t know that eating a piece of chicken can get Shmuel to the punishment of death. As he felt to sorry for Shmuel, he was the one that insisted Shmuel to take the chicken and he was the one who didn’t tell the truth. In order to show his remorse, Bruno went to the place they usually meet and waited for Shmuel eventhrough that Shmuel didn’t show up for few days. But then he did, and that was when Bruno apologized to Shmuel. (He hesitated for a moment, not wanting to get sidetracked. He felt that he should say it one last time and really mean it. ‘I’m very sorry, Shmuel,’ he said in a clear voice. ‘I can’t believe I didn’t tell him the truth. I’ve never let a friend down like that before. Shmuel, I’m ashamed of myself.’ Pg 175, ch 15).
