Bobby wanted to earn extra money, so his parents helped him get a job delivering papers. He had to wake up every morning at 5 a.

m. to fold the newspapers. He would then pack them in the sack on his back and ride around the neighborhood, throw the paper on the driveways. A few times, his toss was off and the paper landed on the wet grass. He know he should probably return to the house and place the paper on the driveway, but his arm usually was accurate. He figured he could always pretend he did not notice – especially if no one complained. Bobby really did not like the job, but he forced himself to do it every morning. About three months into the job, he decided it was not worth the extra money. He told his boss that he wanted to quit, but offered to complete the last week of the month because he knew he would have to find a new delivery person.

I would say my rating of the boy was because technically he did wake up and go to work every day but he did not put as much effort as he can. He also did not finish the job and presume to quit as soon as possible.

g100num [7]

Answer:

"On the Bus with Rosa Parks"

In this excerpt, the poet’s narration reveals the poet’s feeling of pride in Rosa Parks.

Explanation:

"On the Bus with Rosa Parks" was a book of poems written by Pulitzer Prize winner and former U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove in 1925.  It described Rosa Parks, the black woman who refused to give up her seat for a white man and played a pivotal role in the Montgomery bus boycott, galvanizing the Supreme Court to declare bus segregation laws null and void and ensured the end of segregation in buses.
