Answer:

1. Part A

The US government must work to overcome barriers to progress for all.

2. Part B

"But what I offer tonight is a set of concrete, practical proposals to speed up growth, strengthen the middle  class and build new ladders of opportunity into the middle class. Some require Congressional action and I'm  eager to work with all of you."

Explanation:

After mentioning the rising stock market that indicated more profit for corporate organizations, President Obama quickly mentioned that those were not the only yardsticks for success. The success of the common man was more important, and the government would need to ensure that everyone will progress.

To strengthen this position, he explained that the middle class will need to be strengthened and that he was willing to cooperate with Congress to achieve that.

Dominik [7]
I think it is very important that people of color and women in places of power because it permits us to have different point of view. Indeed if the vision of the world is governed by only one diversity or race, it is difficult to identify the inequalities that others face. For example, a woman in places of power with men will allow them to see what she faces and want to change about how people see her and if people of color it will allow maybe to reduce racism. That is why I think it important to have diversity in high places like this.
