Which sentence best describes the relationship between a story’s conflict and its theme?A story’s conflict cannot be understood
Lina20 [59]
The correct answer is B.

The way a conflict is resolved usually suggests something about the theme.

For example, let's say a theme is "truth." If a conflict has a positive resolution, that says something different than if it has a negative resolution. A negative resolution to a conflict might indicate truth is painful, while a positive resolution to a conflict might indicate truth is necessary and/or healing.

How does the tone shift when Diana Moon Glampers shows up? Question 8 options: The passage begins with an appreciative and admir
kakasveta [241]

The tone shift in "Harrison Bergeron" after the Handicapper General Diana Moon Glampers shows us can be described in the following manner after due analysis:

A. The passage begins with an appreciative and admiring tone, but shifts to one of shock and sadness.

When does Diana appear?

Diana Moon Glampers appears when the main character, Harrison, is dancing with a ballerina in front of cameras. Diana is the Handicapper General. She is responsible for forcing people to wear handicaps in order to make everyone equal/average.

When the author describes the dance, he uses a tone of admiration and appreciation. Phrases such as "They leaped like deer on the moon," and "neutralizing gravity with love and pure will" convey the beauty and grace of the spectacle.

However, once Diana appears, the tone shifts drastically to one of shock and sadness. "It was then that Diana Moon Glampers, the Handicapper General, came into the studio with a double-barreled ten-gauge shotgun. She fired twice, and the Emperor and the Empress were dead before they hit the floor.

The tone becomes more direct, the descriptions are short, and the image sad. Harrison and the ballerina are killed on live TV. The purpose here is to show how an oppressive government will use violence to stop people from rebelling.
