So if these are simultaneous equations here are the steps:

Bring the variables to one side and the constants to the other side of the equal sign. Remember if you bring anything to the other side it’s sign has to change:

x + y = 12
2x + 3y = 29

Now multiply a variable on the top equation so that it will be equal with the variable on the second:

3x + 3y = 36
2x + 3y = 29

Now subtract the equations which gets you:

x = 7

So we know what the x is, now we have to substitute the x in an equation we created; we’ll go with x + y = 12:

x + y = 12

= 7 + y = 12

Now bring the variable to one side and constants to the other like we did before (remember, the sign must change if the constant or variable is moved to different sides of the equal sign):

y = 12 - 7, which would equal y = 5.

So our answer would be:

( x, y ) = ( 7, 5 )

Hope this helps have an awesome day!

Suppose three riders rode a total of 182 miles. If they used a total of 13 horses, and rode each horse the same number of miles,
umka21 [38]

Answer:

They rode 14 miles before replacing each horse

Step-by-step explanation:

We will be working under the assumption that all three riders sat on one horse at a time and rode it while the other horses rested.

From the problem, we can understand that the horses were each ridden for the same distance. This means that to get the total distance a horse rode before it was changed, we can divide the total distance by the number of horses that were used for the journey.

Distance each horse rode = 182/ 13 = 14 miles.

Therefore, each horse was ridden for 14 miles before it was changed.

43: PLEASE HELP Write the equation 22x-2y-10 in slope-intercept form
Gnoma [55]

Answer:

y= 11x -5

Step-by-step explanation:

I believe you rearrange it to get y on one side of the equation so,

2y= 22x-10

and then divide 2 on both sides to get,

y=11x-5

If the trapezoid on the grid below is translated by using the rule (x,y)-> (x-4,y-3) what will be the coordinates of B’?
vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

B'(3, 5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Rule for the translation of a point (x, y) by 'h' units left and 'k' units upwards,

(x, y) → (x - h, y + k)

If h = 4 and k = 3,

(x, y)\rightarrow(x-4,y+3)

Following this rule coordinates of the image point of B will be,

B(7, 2) → B'(7 - 4, 2 + 3)

           → B'(3, 5)

Therefore, coordinates of the image point B' will be,

B'(3, 5)
