If a lock and key fit perfectly together and then one day the key melts and then it is now more droopy and no longer can fit into the lock, then that key wont work for the lock anymore. It's the same as if an enzyme breaks down a bit and now the shape doesn't fit perfectly, the enzyme doesn't work anymore
