It is important for the different states to come together and form a united country because without a united front internal conflict can break out creating problems involving the national government, foreign allies, and the military. Its best to keep this united front between states so that the country and its people are kept safe.
The Anti-Federalists were almost all unanimously opposed to the ratification of the Constitution, since they thought that it would create a federal government that would become tyrannical--taking away too much power from the states.
