You are considering moving the school to another neighborhood where the rent and utilities will increase to $10,392.00, salaries

to $6,594.00 and insurance to $2,062.00 per month. Variable cost per student will increase up to $160.00 per month. However you can charge $1,045.00 per student. At what point will you be indifferent between your current mode of operation and the new option

Answer:

20

Explanation:

Missing word <em>"You run a school in Florida. Fixed monthly cost is $5,290.00 for rent and utilities, $6,345.00 is spent in salaries and $1,249.00 in insurance. Also every student adds up to $95.00 per month in stationary, food etc. You charge $666.00 per month from every student now."</em>

<em />

Let the number of student be x

Total profit from first operation = 666x - 5290 - 6345 - 1249 - 95x

Total profit from first operation = 571x - 12884

Total profit from second operation = 1045x - 10392 - 6594 - 2062 - 160x

Total profit from second operation = 885x - 19048

At point of indifference, Profit from first operation=Profit from second operation

571x - 12884 = 885x - 19048

885x - 571x = 19048 - 12884

314x = 6164

x = 6164/314

x = 19.6306

x = 20

Hence, one will be indifferent when the total number of student is 20

Cole is refinishing an antique china cabinet and has already spent $180 on the restoration. He expects to be able to sell the ca
Lunna [17]

Answer:

Cole should complete the additional work and sell the cabinet for $360.

Explanation:

If Cole sells the cabinet now for $100 and taken into account that he has already spent $180, this means that:

$100-$180= -$80

He would be losing $80.

On the other side, if he completes the additional work, he would sell the cabinet $360. However, his expenses would be:

$180+$200= $380

Now, you have to subtract the costs from the selling price:

$360-$380= -$20

This means that he would lose $20.

According to that, Cole should complete the additional work because he would be lose less money.

Suppose the market for pizzas is unregulated. That is, pizza prices are free to adjust based on the forces of supply and demand.
algol13

Answer:

If a shortage exists in the pizza market, then the current price must be <u>HIGHER</u> than the equilibrium price. For the market to reach equilibrium, you would expect <u>BUYERS TO OFFER HIGHER PRICES</u> persistent excess demand.

Explanation:

The market for pizzas is unregulated, there is no law that establishes the minimum or maximum price of a slice.

A sudden decrease in the quantity supplied of a product or service will shift the supply curve to the left causing a shortage. The only way a shortage is eliminated is through an increase in the price of the good or service. That will increase the equilibrium price, which in turn should increase the quantity supplied.

On January 1, Year 1, Sophia Company purchased an asset that cost $100,000. The asset had an expected useful life of five years
hoa [83]

Answer:

$21,000

Explanation:

Depreciation is the systematic allocation of the cost of an asset to the income statement over the estimated useful life of that asset.

It is determined as the depreciable value of the asset over the estimated useful life of the asset where the depreciable value is the difference between the cost and salvage value of the asset

Mathematically,

Depreciation = (Cost - Salvage value)/Estimated useful life

Given that On January 1, Year 1, Sophia Company purchased an asset that cost $100,000. The asset had an expected useful life of five years and an estimated salvage value of $20,000,

Annual depreciation

= ($100,000 - $20,000)/5

= $16,000

At the beginning of the 4th year, the carrying amount of the asset

= $100,000 - 3($16,000)

= $52,000

Since the company revised its estimated salvage value to $10,000, annual depreciation will be

= ($52,000 - $10,000)/2

= $21,000
