An acoustic neuroma is a tumor that arises from neurolemmocytes surrounding the vestibular portion of the vestibulocochlear nerv

e. The tumor is benign, but generally grows within the confined space of the petrous part of the temporal bone, thus compressing the nerve and creating problems with balance and hearing loss. What other, nearby nerve would you expect to also be affected by this tumor

Answer: The nearby nerve that can be affected by this tumour is the FACIAL NERVE.

Explanation:

As stated in the question, the acoustic neuroma is a tumor that arises from the vestibular portion of the vestibulocochlear nerve which is the VIII ( 8th) cranial nerve.

VESTIBULOCOCHLEAR NERVE: These nerves are composed of two distinct sets of fibres, vestibular nerves and cochlear nerves.

The vestibular nerves arise from the semicircular canals of the inner ear and convey impulses to the cerebellum. They are associated with the maintenance of posture and balance. The cochlear nerves originate in the spiral organ in the inner ear and convey impulses to the hearing areas in the cerebral cortex where sound is perceived.

The Facial nerve, also called the 7th cranial nerve, which are the motor fibres that supply the muscles of facial expression. It lies adjacent to the vestibulocochlear nerve as they pass through the internal auditory canal which is located at the petrous part of the temporal bone. As the tumor grows, the facial nerve would be affected because it's the closest nerve to the VESTIBULOCOCHLEAR nerve..

During meiosis I, ____________ chromosomes line up side by side and may shuffle genetic material between themselves.
lozanna [386]

During meiosis I, homologous chromosomes line up side by side and may shuffle genetic material between themselves.

What is Meiosis?

 • In sexually reproducing organisms, meiosis is a unique type of cell division of germ cells that results in the production of gametes, such as sperm or egg cells.
 • Two rounds of division are necessary, and the end product is four cells with just one copy of each chromosome.
 • Prophase I, Metaphase I, Anaphase I, and Telophase I are the four phases that make up Meiosis I.
 • It deactivates the sporophytic information while activating the genetic information for the production of sex cells.
 • By halving the same, it keeps the chromosomal count constant.

What is chromosome?

 • A chromosome is a lengthy DNA molecule that contains all or a portion of an organism's genetic code.
 • Histones, which serve as packing proteins for the majority of eukaryotic chromosomes, work with chaperone proteins to attach to and condense the DNA molecule in order to preserve the integrity of the molecule.

Answer:

Option D. Replace a conventional car with an electric car.

Explanation:

Conventional cars are those which moves with the use of fossil fuels such as petrol and diesel etc while electric cars are those cars which moves with the use of electricity. When fossil fuels burns in the engine of conventional cars, it produces a large amount of smoke which cause pollution in the air while electric cars do not emitt any harmful gases in the environment so electric cars are used instead of conventional cars.
