From a technical perspective, anyone could say, "yes." And that's okay, it's natural. After they say yes, they'd say something like, "It grows us as a person." But that is only because of the very fact that they are in a technical perspective. Not in the moment, or possibly not in the shoes, of experiencing an extreme struggle.
Tell me; if you are a struggling young man, on the verge of homelessness, would you be grateful for what you are right now? Because of certain failures in your life (due or not due to you) this is where you end up. You see, the thing is, not all failures end up with successes.
But your initial question was, "Can we." And there's the bright side of it. We can, very much so. It doesn't take too much of a bright mind to say so.
A possibly basic but effective example includes the journey of Thomas Edison and the lightbulb. He failed 1,000 in trying to make the lightbulb. But with his wisdom, he says that, "I didn't fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps." This quote from him is saying that his failures were not for nothing. All in all, it essentially means that all his 1,000 "steps" were required in order to teach and lead him to the one big conclusion that today is known as the lightbulb.
