How does the mortality pattern and age distribution affect the growth rate?

Mortality pattern affects population growth rates because a high mortality rate will offset the population-growth effects of a high birthrate. It is important to remember that mortality patterns often disproportionately affect different groups. If the mortality rate were atypically high among fertile-age women, this would have an even more powerful impact on population growth.

Age distribution is also important to growth rate because it describes what percentage of the population is at a child producing age. An age distribution that is weighed toward elder people can expect a lower future growth rate than a young-slanted age distribution, since a larger portion of the young population will likely have babies in the future.

svlad2 [7]

Answer and Explanation:

1. The amount of goodwill is shown below:

= Purchase price - the market value of net assets

= $6,000,000 - ($17,000,000 + $13,000,000)

= $2,000,000

2. Now the journal entry for purchase is

Assets $17,000,000

Goodwill $2,000,000

      To Liabilities $13,000,000

      To Cash $6,000,000

(Being the purchase is recorded)

For recording this we debited the assets and goodwill as it increased the assets and credited the liabilities and cash as it also increased the liabilities and decreased the assets

djyliett [7]

There is some concern that increased use of electronic databases could prompt the need for legislation protecting employee privacy rights.

An electronic database is a computer-based collection also listing of the information. Through this the information can be searched in a fast and easy manner.

Electronic databases held organized collections of data, or information, which is thus stored in a computer in a readable form. So sometimes, the increased use of electronic databases might probably prompt the need for legislation which protects employee privacy rights.

Hence, the electronic databases can make it easier to search, query, filter and retrieve required data.

Suppose that Greece and Sweden both produce oil and stained glass. Greece's opportunity cost of producing a pane of stained glas
Wewaii [24]

Answer: Greece; Sweden

Explanation:

A country or a firm has a comparative advantage in producing a commodity if the opportunity cost of producing that commodity in terms of other commodity is lower in that country or firm as compared to the other country or firm.

Greece's opportunity cost of producing a pane of stained glass = 4 barrels of oil

Sweden's opportunity cost of producing a pane of stained glass = 8 barrels of oil

Therefore, opportunity cost of producing a pane of stained glass is lower in Greece as compared to the Sweden.

Hence, Greece has a comparative advantage in producing stained glass.

Greece's opportunity cost of producing a barrel of oil = \frac{1}{4}

                                                                                          = 0.25 pane of stained glass

Sweden's opportunity cost of producing a barrel of oil = \frac{1}{8}

                                                                                          = 0.125 pane of Stained glass

Therefore, opportunity cost of producing a barrel of oil is lower in Sweden as compared to the Greece.

Hence, Sweden has a comparative advantage in producing Oil.
