Ok so you would times 8.4*10 and get 84-6 which is 78, and 6.5*10 which is 65-6, so then you get 78+59=137 :)

Which of the following is an equation of the line passing through the points (-1, 4) and (1, 2)?.
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

y-4 =-1(x+1)  point slope form

y-2 = -1(x-1)

y = -x +3  slope intercept form

Step-by-step explanation:

We have 2 points, we can find the slope

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

   = (2-4)/(1--1)

   (2-4)/(1+1)

     -2/2

   =-1

The slope is -1

Then we can use point slope form to find an equation

y-y1 =m(x-x1)

y-4 = -1(x--1)

y-4 =-1(x+1)  point slope form

Using the other point

y-2 = -1(x-1)

Distribute the -1

y-2 = -1x +1

Add 2 to each side

y-2+2 = -x+1+2

y = -x +3  slope intercept form

A. F(n) = 3n + 5 is your answer

Plug in the corresponding number to n to get F(n).

When n = 0:

3(0) + 5 = F(n)
0 + 5 = F(n)
F(n) = 5 (True).

When n = 1:
3(1) + 5 = F(n)
3 + 5 = F(n)
F(n) = 8 (True).

When n = 2:
3(2) + 5 = F(n)
6 + 5 = F(n)
F(n) = 11 (True)

etc. etc.

hope this helps

Y=4x-18

Ordered pairs
Nitella [24]

There are any number of ordered pairs that work for this equation. Below are some examples.

(0, -18) (2, -10) (5, 2)

In order to find these and any others, you simply select a value for x and plug into the equation to find y. Below is an example.

y = 4x - 18

y = 4(0) - 18

y = 0 - 18

y = -18

(0, -18)
