The separation of communities and incorporation of hostile communities into one sphere of influence resulted to the current wave of ethnic politics,tensions and violence. however, the colony also substantially benefited from European technologies in such areas as telecommunication, transport and health. The campaigns that had ended up in the abolition of slavery also was better enforced in the continent.
