You should shade the object where the light does not hit it and make it the lightest where the light hits it
Matisse studied law from 1887 to 1891 before deciding to go to Paris France to become a painter. He worked under Adolph William Bouguereau at the Académie Julian in Paris but left in 1892 to enter the studio of Gustave Moreau at the École de Beaux- Arts where he studied until 1897.
