Round 8.139 to the nearest tenth

Mathematics

8.139 rounded to the nearest tenth would be 8.1 because the tenth place that we’re looking at is the number 1 and the number after it is 3. if the number that is after the tenth place is greater than 5 then the tenth place number goes up. and if the number after tenth place is lower than 5, then we stay the same. since 3 is lower than 5, the tenth place number stays the same making the answer 8.1. hope that helped lol..

Help me with these 3 and explain too thank you :))
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

1) 25

2) 2

3) f(g(1)) = 42

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Given that f(x) = 4x^2  + 9

If x = -2

f(-2) = 4(-2)^2 + 9

f(-2) = 4(4) + 9

f(-2) = 16 + 9

f(-2) = 25

2) Given that f(x) = 4x - 6

y = 4x - 6

Replace y  with x

x = 4y - 6

MAke y the subject of the forfmula

4y = x+ 6

y = (x+6)/4

SInce x = 2

f^(-1)(2) = (2+6)/4

f^(-1)(2) = 8/4 = 2

3) If f(x) = 6x and g(x) = x+6

f(g(x)) = f(x+6)

f(x+6) = 6(x+6)

Since x = 1

f(g(1)) = 6(1+6)

f(g(1)) = 6(7)

f(g(1)) = 42

rebekah's baby brother weighs 7.71 pounds.How much will her baby brother weigh if he gains 1.3 pounds each week for two weeks?
NemiM [27]

Answer:

10.31 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we multiply 1.3 x 2 because he is gaining 1.3 for the next TWO weeks.

1.3 x 2 = 2.6

Now, add 7.71 + 2.6 because that is the weight he started with.

7.71 + 2.6 = 10.31‬

Her brother will weight 10.31 pounds if he is 7.71 lbs and continues to gain 1.3 pounds each week for two weeks.
